For a while there, I was thinking that Mailchimp was cheaper than ActiveCampaign.
Because I am paying more than I would if I was with Mailchimp. Mind you, it doesn’t bother me to pay more because I think ActiveCampaign is way more powerful.
Today, the price of ActiveCampaign came up twice outside of work. I am in an entrepreneur’s group and one of the guys was saying how different the prices are with ActiveCampaign vs MailChimp.
Then, a friend of mine needed to set up his email marketing again, because he wanted to be able to email the students in his online courses. We were on a Skype call, so I pitched him the benefits of ActiveCampaign and why it was worth the extra money.
In my account that I use, I am just paying for extra features, because I want those upgraded options.
But, if you compare apples to apples, ActiveCampaign is cheaper. And it still has the functionality of the marketing automation system. Which is what makes ActiveCampaign so awesome.
Check it out. Here is ActiveCampaign:
And here is Mailchimp:
Now, that is only a $1 difference in the cost. It is cheaper, but not enough to get anyone excited. Unless you have big plans for that dollar. In which case, this is a no-brainer.
The real value comes from the marketing automation system that ActiveCampaign provides you with. MailChimp has their version, but it isn’t near as good.
I was a user of MailChimp before I started using ActiveCampaign. And their system was ok for sending emails. I tried to figure out their automation offerings, but it seemed like it was just a tag on of their original email marketing service. It wasn’t intuitive and it didn’t have that many options for setting up automations.
So it was difficult to think of any reason to use an automation within MailChimp.
But, when you use ActiveCampaign’s system, it is so much easier to see how you can set up automations that make you money.
Automations can personalize the user’s experience. If you personalize their experience, they are more likely to buy from you. Simple as that.
Anyways, there is a free trial period which doesn’t require a credit card. I recommend you check it out.
